Fundamental Research
World-leading research by the team focuses on advances in optics systems, reference models, interrogation methods and signal processing, to ultimately push the envelope on accuracy, reliability, longevity and form. Forums such as the aPNT annual event provide upstream and downstream connections to both influence the prioritisation, and dissemination, of research.
Research Commercialisation
Advancing research beyond the lab, aPNT actively pursues intellectual property protection and exploitation strategies, towards commercialisation. Further, research is conducted while cognisant of deployment, including product integration strategies with clients, and supply chain planning. Supported by robust management frameworks and a culture of research mobilisation, a university-to-industry pipeline with a focus on end-users lends aPNT value beyond their competitors.
Research Translation and Mobilisation
Cross-sector and transdisciplinary collaborations are supported by events, including workshops, to help train researchers in the objectives and constraints of real-world product deployment, as well as supporting the formation of an industry community of best practice.
Next-Generation Workforce
Preparing world-leading researchers with industry-ready knowledge and skills is a key goal of aPNT. Knowledge sharing initiatives aim to upskill industry and government members, and establish a talent pipeline for researchers into the field.
